CHESSMEN Workshop in Madrid

On 10 June, the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS) hosted a national CHESSMEN workshop, bringing together key stakeholders from across the Spanish healthcare system, including industry representatives, pharmaceutical distributors, hospital pharmacists, patient organisations, regional authorities and regulators. The event showcased the main achievements of the CHESSMEN Joint Action, with a particular focus on the work led by AEMPS on identifying the root causes of medicine shortages. Participants also explored the outcomes of Work Packages 6, 7 and 8, covering shortage notification, monitoring, prevention and mitigation, and discussed opportunities to strengthen coordination and harmonise approaches to medicines shortages across Europe.
