CHESSMEN JA meeting - Dialogue with Stakeholders

On 2 June 2026, the CHESSMEN Joint Action held the CHESSMEN Meeting – Dialogue with Stakeholders in Lisbon, hosted by INFARMED, I.P.

The meeting brought together representatives from healthcare authorities, healthcare professionals, patient organisations, industry and other relevant stakeholders to discuss the main outcomes of the Joint Action and future actions to strengthen the prevention, monitoring and mitigation of medicines shortages across Europe.

The event included presentations on the key results achieved by CHESSMEN Work Packages 5,6,7 and 8, covering the identification of the root causes of medicines shortages, the identification and promotion of best practices, the definition of a common dataset proposal for the notification and management of medicines shortages, and the reduction of shortages via preventive and mitigation strategies. Participants also had the opportunity to exchange views on current challenges and opportunities to improve cooperation and information exchange among all actors involved in medicines availability.
